About Hart Strength

Strong coaching. Without the intimidation.

Ava Hart founded Hart Strength to give Melbourne women a training space that feels supportive, not intimidating — and coaching that actually fits their lives.

Why Hart Strength exists.

Ava's Story

Ava spent years training in traditional Melbourne gyms and watching the same pattern play out: talented, capable women would sign up, try their best, and quietly stop going — not because they lacked discipline, but because the environment wasn’t built for them.

She saw women hovering near the cardio machines, unsure how to approach the weights floor. She saw friends follow workouts pulled from social media that had nothing to do with their goals, experience or bodies. And she saw how much changed once someone had a coach in their corner who explained the “why,” celebrated small wins and never made them feel judged.

Hart Strength was built around that gap. It’s strength coaching designed specifically for women who want to train seriously, without the intimidation, ego or noise that so often comes with traditional gym culture.

Strength, confidence and consistency — in that order.

Philosophy
01

Strength first

Every program is built on fundamental strength training principles — proper technique, sensible progression and movements that transfer to real life.

02

Confidence, coached

Confidence isn’t assumed, it’s built session by session, through clear instruction and a coach who’s genuinely in your corner.

03

Consistency over intensity

A realistic plan you can sustain will always outperform an extreme one you can’t. Training fits your life — not the other way around.

Before You Start

You don’t need to be fit to start.

One of the most common things clients tell Ava after their first session: they thought they needed a baseline level of fitness before they could even begin.

You don’t. Whether you’ve never picked up a weight, you’re returning after years away, or you’re managing an injury or postnatal recovery, coaching starts from exactly where you are. Most Hart Strength clients begin as complete beginners in the weights room. That’s the point.
